PRODUCT HIGHLIGHTS

Dan Coleman of Excelsior Learning conducts an experiential workshop integrating creative thinking, problem solving and team building skills, to develop highly effective teams. He had been looking for a better way to train team members to solve problems more effectively by quickly adjusting and modifying their initial approach if they were not getting satisfactory results. Dan designed a learning activity that uses the Sentinel in combination with the Electric Maze.

The problem solving activity illustrates how difficult it is for teams to think creatively in a real-time situation. In the debriefing discussions following the activity, participants typically comment that they cannot believe how long it took them to change paths especially when they knew they were reaching the same dead-end results. The discussions focus on ways to change the tendency for teams to stay with tried and true methods, when they are not working effectively, and to quickly try alternative or new approaches and techniques.
